When designing the office interiors, manufacturers that meet the strictest guidelines for air quality and product content are needed. Greenguard is a certification that indicates the product has passed tests for air quality, product recycled content, and renewable resource inclusion. When designing for a green office, this certification is critical in providing products that work within the scope of the project.  Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)The Forest Stewardship Council is an oversight organization that regulates the healthy logging practices needed to support the office furniture industry. While the industry relies heavily on logging, this logging can be environmentally responsible. The FSC supports and regulates manufacturers to use preferred sources for timber, veneers, and particle boards to minimize the use of illegal or un-friendly lumber sources. Shore Corporate Environmental Practices At Shore, we have been in the practice of supporting the environment for over 30 years. This is not simply a fad, but woven securely in our culture and business future. For over 30 years, Shore has been the #1 recycler of used furniture in San Diego. On average, we recycle about 300 tons of used furniture per year. This furniture would otherwise end up in a landfill from companies going out of business or downsizing.
